Hundreds of tweets rallied in support of Elizabeth Warren by imploring the Senate Republicans to Let Liz Speak [#LetLizSpeak] just after they silenced her. She argued against the appointment of Sen. Jeff Sessions to be the U.S. Attorney General.
The Majority Leader Mitch McConnell halted Elizabeth Warren not-to-read three decades old Coretta Scott King’s letter and written when Sessions was being considered for the post of Federal Judgeship in 1986.
The letter starts as:
“I write to express my sincere opposition to the confirmation of Jefferson B. Sessions as a federal district court judge for the Southern District of Alabama.”
She described the reason for disagreement:
“Anyone who has used the power of his office as United States Attorney to intimidate and chill the free exercise of the ballot by citizens should not be elevated to our courts.”
That was the segment from the letter McConnel referred to being over the senate floor and was agreed upon by Senator Steve Daines the other Republican presiding over. Liz was shunned and is now unable to comment on Sessions confirmation.
Following the suit the twitter followers went on fire and thousands of tweets rallied on in support of Elizabeth Warren with hashtags #LetLizSpeak.

A senator's mouthpiece is larger than the senate floor, but it's even larger when her constituents rally w/ @SenateDems to #LetLizSpeak

A US Senator isn't allowed to read a letter by a civil rights icon but our President is allowed to attack one. #LetLizSpeak. #StopSessions
