James Comey, the FBI Director, is all set to appear at a public House Intelligence Committee hearing on Monday to usher Russian meddling in the Election. The Chairman, Devin Nunes broke the news to the reporters on Wednesday, the Senate Judicial Committee will also be briefed upon the issue, separately.
Nunes, regarding Trump Tower Wiretapping issue, said he had not seen any such evidence to support the claim that the place was wiretapped by the former president, however, he showed his concern over the incidental collection of communication-data of Trump supporters.
“I don’t think there was an actual tap,” the California Republican said.
An Aide confirmed that Comey would brief the senators on Wednesday afternoon, the other administrative authorities may be on hand as well. Whereas, Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) who is Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, California Senator Dianne Feinstein who is panel’s superior Democrat, declared that they’d be getting a descriptive briefing regarding Russian intervention on Wednesday.
The Senate’s panel has been faced with immense bipartisan pressure from members which awaits the Justice Department nod over the Russian meddling in the 2016 Election.
Grassley said earlier this week that he would not schedule a committee vote for Rod Rosenstein — Trump’s pick for deputy attorney general — until the committee was briefed by Comey.
