The Desert X outdoor art festival being held at Coachella Valley and a makeover being done to it that includes its billboards. Jennifer Bolande, is the visual artist behind the amazing project to replace the billboards in the area with photos of the view that they have been blocking. The views that have been blocking contain the mountain views and beautiful landscapes that have been skipped and it also sends the powerful social message.
The project is known as “Vanishing billboards” that have been designed in such a blend to be seen from a moving car. When the driver reaches to the right angle the retina makes an image that blends the seamlessly disarrayed landscape images clipped on billboards and provides an array of streamlining.
An air of old 50s Burma Shave signs could be viewed that impart a message when driven past them.
All of these billboards stand by Gene Autry Trail
The crux of ‘Project Desert X’ aims at reconnecting environment and Jennifer’s project takes a leap at focusing off the conventional advertising by putting in the natural landscapes of Coachella valley.
