Soviet photographer Sokolaev spent 20 years to capture this series of photos that he named as “Unattractive and hidden side of socialism”. He took these photos secretly from 1970s to the late 1980s. It is a fact that the USSR authorities would not have tolerated to be represented like this. It is sad to know that the social state’s dark side is gloomier and darker.
